Capita Outerspace Living Snowboard Review

· Board: Capita Outerspace Living
· Bindings: Union Strata (New for 2019 Season)
· Boots: K2 Ender (MM), Burton Ion (SS)

Champagne smooth, and Swiss Army versatile on a budget

I didn’t know how much this board cost when I rode it, which is why it impressed me that much more when I found out that the Outerspace Living (OSL) by Capita hits shelves at $399usd/$480cad. The immediate stand out feature of this board was how smooth it rode, and how nice the sidecut felt underfoot. The OSL is quick edge to edge and lively when loading ollies, and popping in, out, and over things. We rode the OSL in the trees, wide open on groomers with big rollers, park and boardercross laps, it felt stable everywhere we took it, and it was comfortable from the first turn.

The OSL features camber under foot with rocker from the bindings out. Combined with a medium flex you get a board that is powerful, playful, and forgiving all in one. It held an edge and felt good carving regardless of speed – slow or fast. Coming back to how smooth it rode, we found that it was pretty much chatter free, a surprise for us given the slightly softer flex. The OSL is also quite light, much lighter than other boards in the same price category, it really feels like a more expensive board than it is.

This board is no slug either. Even though Capita has put an extruded base on this board to up the durability factor, it rode really fast to the point where we both assumed it was sintered even though it’s not. I had no problem going as fast as I wanted on the OSL.

Overall feeling: Everything mentioned above makes for a really versatile and fun board. If you’re on a budget and looking for one board to do it all and leave you enough in the wallet for a lift ticket, then you should definitely check this board out. Get down to your local shop and to see it in person, and if you have the chance to try it out do – ‘’/ this board didn’t disappoint.
