When Bataleon first launched the Magic Carpet it was one of those unique moments in time where something new came along and redefined a whole new genre. Working in collaboration with some of the very biggest names in freeride snowboarding, Bataleon’s engineers experimented with their unique Pow TBT profile, integrating it into a twin tip chassis. Little did they realise, during those early stages of development that they’d come up with a board that not only allowed you to take park tricks into the backcountry but they’d also created a versatile all terrain board that very quickly established itself as one of the most fun to ride boards on the market.

Fast forward 4 years and the Magic Carpet still gets rave reviews, it’s uncanny ability to deliver powder board levels of float in the deep stuff combined with its playful freestyle nature has made it a firm favourite. Key to the boards success is that Bataleon have ensured that the Magic Carpet has always stayed ahead of the game in terms of design and construction, and for 17/18 it’s no different. In fact, for this season Bataleon have totally redesigned it and in doing so have stepped up performance to a whole new level. Heading up this redesign is the introduction of the all new 3rd generation TBT base profile. This re-working of the Pow 3BT adds an additional upturn at the contact points. Although it doesn’t look like much it transforms the performance of the board ensuring that no matter what or where you ride, the Magic Carpet really will blow your mind.

But, it’s not only the TBT that Bataleon have re-engineered, it’s also the construction. Heading this up is the all new Reactor Bamboo wood core. This responsive poplar core integrates bamboo stringers along the edges increasing both pop and power through the turn. To this, Bataleon then add their exclusive Tri-Ax Plus structural layers, this torsionally responsive glass delivers a powerful and dynamic ride whilst also reducing weight. Now to give the board that extra pop for powering off hits, it features carbon stringers running from the tip and tail through to the inset pattern. Finally, the super-fast Hyper Glide S base gives great glide in all conditions.
