Do it yourself! ~One method for turning a regular shaped snowboard into a swallowtail/ fishtail board better suited for powder days.
The swallowtail causes the tail to sink in the snow, and raises the nose up above the snow, allowing the rider a more natural riding position and reducing the need to shift ones weight to the tail of the board to keep the nose afloat.
It also makes the tail more loose, channeling the snow, making turns more tastee and giving the board a feel more like surfing.

first: rad board job!
second: just a well made video! seriously, the animations parts were especially great.
question time: how did you know to cut more out? I’m getting ready to cut an old board and I’m not sure what shape and how much to cut off the tail.
Nice work. Thanks for the step by step man.
Mother Mary and Josheph, thanks for the Zappa lick.
I’m glad you saved your old boards and gave one a new and improved life.
Neccessity is the true mother of invention.
Be safe on the snow, I’m happy to see you wear a respirator while constructing.
